The Plan of Salvation

To become a Christian you must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  In order to enter into this personal relationship, you must:

Realize That Your'e a Sinner

The Bible says in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

Realize That There is Penalty For That Sin - Spiritual Death

The Bible says in Romans 6:23a, "For the wages of sin is death..."  This word "death" doesn't just mean physical death, but it speaks of separation from God forever and ever in a lake of fire (Revelation 20:15).

Realize That Jesus Loves You and Paid Your Penalty of Sin

The Bible says in Romans 5:8-9, "But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.  Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him."

Realize You Cannot Work Your Way To Heaven

The Bible says in Titus 3:5a, "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us..." Going to Heaven is a "GIFT" and it is absolutely free.  You cannot buy it, or work for it, or go to church for it, or be good enough for it.  The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Realize That Jesus Offers the Free Gift of Salvation

The Bible says in Romans 6:23b, "...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."  Going to Heaven is a "GIFT".  One of the most often quoted verses in the Bible says, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

Realize That You Must Personally Receive God's Free Gift of Salvation

The Bible says in Romans 10:13, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." The Bible also says in John 1:12, "But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name."

To PERSONALLY receive God's free gift of salvation, you must CONFESS to Him that you are a sinner and that you desire to RECEIVE His free gift.  Following is a prayer that I prayed, personally, nearly 40 years ago, "Lord, I know that I am a sinner.  Please forgive me of my sin.  I now accept you as my personal Savior.  I pray this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Amen."

If the Lord is speaking to your heart about your own personal need of His FREE GIFT of salvation, will you right now pray a similar prayer as I did years ago?  If you do, please call me and let me know.  I would like to rejoice with you and with the Lord's angels. "Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth" (Luke 15:10).
